Unique Development Aid Foundation was established in 2014 as Unique Foundation The Gambia, operating as a non-profit and non-political organization under the 2013 Companies Act of the Republic of the Gambia, with registration number 2014/C699. In 2023, the foundation was also officially incorporated in Nigeria under the registrar-General of Corporate Affairs Commission, with registration number 6932602. We are proud to be a member of the Nigeria Network of NGOs.
Our organization is dedicated to serving vulnerable children, youth, women, and rural communities in both The Gambia and Nigeria. We prioritize the right to quality education, good health, and raising awareness about environmental hygiene and social issues.
Since its inception, the foundation has been actively involved in implementing projects to enhance the quality of education in The Gambia and, more recently, in Nigeria. We strive to provide underprivileged children with access to free learning materials, study facilities, and mentorship opportunities. Additionally, we emphasize the importance of education and provide income-generating skills training to empower underprivileged and unemployed youth.
Our vision
Our vision is a world where all children will have access to a home and quality education; individuals in poverty empowered to create opportunity for themselves and others.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide service to the needy and at risk children, to empower women and youths with income generating skills especially those in the rural communities to break loose from the cycle of poverty.
Our Goals
Our goal is to create a future in The Gambia, Nigeria, and beyond, where every child and adult possesses the ability to read and write. In the next five years, Unique Foundation and Unique Development Aid Foundation are committed to implementing essential strategies. These include preventing school dropouts, offering learning opportunities to at-risk and underprivileged students, fostering a culture of reading, and ensuring children stay in school until they complete Grade 12/Senior Secondary education. Through these initiatives, we aim to make significant progress towards our goal.
